## Four questions it answers

The ones a board asks and most B2B teams cannot answer from the ad platforms alone.

### Which campaign reached the meetings?

Every lead carries the campaign it came from, so meetings and qualified opportunities trace back to a campaign, not just a channel.

### Which companies did our ads reach?

Every company your LinkedIn campaigns reached, with where it stands with sales.

### What was already in the pipeline?

A company already in your pipeline before your ads started is marked, so you can see which deals were open before the campaign began.

### Who should sales call first?

Companies with high interest and no meeting yet are marked Hot, so the list your team calls from starts in the right place.

## Where each company stands with sales

Each company reached by your LinkedIn campaigns gets one label from your HubSpot records: new to sales, never worked, worked with no meeting, or in pipeline before or since your ads started. Hot sits beside it.

## Counted the way your HubSpot is set up

No two HubSpot accounts are used the same way, so the dashboard counts what yours records and does not ask you to change it.

If you use lifecycle stages

### Contact stages

Leads, marketing qualified and sales qualified contacts, counted from the lifecycle stage each contact reaches.

If you work in deals

### Deal stages

Meetings and qualified opportunities, counted from the date a deal reaches the stage you name in your pipeline. Some teams never use the contact stages, and this is for them.

Agreed once

### Written down

The rule is agreed when we set it up with you, using the names your team uses, so the numbers mean what your team means by them.

## Where a match can go wrong

Stated here, so nobody finds out later.

### Matched by name, then confirmed

LinkedIn tells us a company’s name and little else. We match it to HubSpot by name and keep the match only when the company’s website address or LinkedIn page agrees. Where they do not, the company shows blank rather than a guess.

### LinkedIn is a day or two behind

LinkedIn’s company figures arrive 24 to 48 hours after the campaign figures, so a campaign that launched today shows no companies for its first two days.

### Small numbers are hidden

LinkedIn hides any count under three, so a company that has barely seen an ad may not appear yet.

## Keeping the list useful

A company list your sales team trusts is one you can tidy.

### Take a company out

Exclude any company, such as a competitor or a customer, and restore it later if you change your mind.

### Take the list with you

Download the list in the format LinkedIn’s company list upload takes, to build an audience from it.

### Flagged once, not every day

When a company newly reaches the level agreed with you, it is flagged once to your Slack channel, not again every day.

Before the dashboard

### Tracking comes first

A pipeline view is only as good as the campaign on each record. Before this dashboard is switched on we check that every ad lead reaches HubSpot with its campaign, and fix it in [the tracking layer](/crank-os/tracking/hubspot-ad-lead-tracking) if it does not. Companies that visit your site without filling in a form are named by [visitor company identification](/crank-os/tracking/visitor-company-identification), which names companies and not people.

## What changes here goes into the morning digest

The dashboards feed the daily digest, so a campaign that stops bringing meetings reaches your team as a line with something to do.

## Questions about the pipeline dashboard

### Do we have to change how we use HubSpot?

No. HubSpot stays yours. We check that each lead carries its campaign and read what your HubSpot already records.

### Which campaigns does it cover?

LinkedIn, Google and Meta. The company view comes from LinkedIn and from visitor company identification on your website, because those are the sources that name companies.

### Why does a company show with no HubSpot status?

Because the match could not be confirmed. A company is matched only when its website address or LinkedIn page agrees with the name, and we leave it blank rather than guess.

### Does it name the people who saw our ads?

No. It names companies, not people, and not every visit can be matched.

### How soon do companies appear after a campaign starts?

After a day or two. LinkedIn’s company figures arrive 24 to 48 hours after the campaign figures.

### Can we see it before we buy?

Yes. Start with the [free companies report](/crank-os/free-companies-report), built for your own site, or book a live demo.
