# Every ad lead in HubSpot, with its campaign attached.

## The ad platforms count leads. HubSpot knows which became deals.

Unless the campaign travels with the lead, the two never meet. The ad that brought a deal then looks the same as the ad that brought nothing.

What the campaign travels with

An ad on LinkedIn, Meta or Google → A form is filled in → A HubSpot record, carrying its campaign → A deal → The campaign that earned it

Illustrative.

## A form fill is not a good lead.

If the ad platform counts every form fill as a conversion, a demo request from the right company counts the same as spam, a rival reading your prices or someone on the wrong form.

### Spam counts as a win

A bot or a wrong form is a conversion to the ad platform, and it shows up as a lead on the report.

### The platform learns the wrong lesson

Meta and Google’s automatic bidding learns from the conversions it is told about. Told about the wrong ones, it finds more people like them.

### Marketing and sales disagree

Marketing reports a strong month of leads and sales reports a weak month of deals. The gap sits where the campaign should have travelled with the lead.

The first step is to make sure the campaign travels with every lead into HubSpot, so deals can be traced back to it.

## What we set up in HubSpot

Done once, properly, as part of onboarding.

### Forms that remember the campaign

Forms on your site pick up the campaign a visitor came from and save it on the lead.

### LinkedIn forms connected

Leads from LinkedIn’s own forms arrive in HubSpot with their campaign attached.

### One way of labelling a lead’s source

Agreed with you and written down, so a lead is labelled the same way wherever it came from.

### Tested with real leads

A test lead from each ad platform is followed from the ad to HubSpot before we call it done.

To confirm: who adds the hidden fields to your forms, us or your team.

## How the campaign travels with the lead

When someone clicks an ad, the platform adds a label to the web address. The set-up makes sure that label is kept.

1

### The click

Someone clicks your ad. The platform adds a click label and the campaign details to the page address.

2

### The form

The form on your site picks those up and saves them with the person’s other details when they send it.

3

### The record

HubSpot creates the contact with its campaign attached. It does not matter if they come back days later.

4

### The deal

A deal made from that contact can be traced back, so you can see which campaigns the deals came from.

Forms built in other tools need checking. That is part of the set-up, and the test with a real lead shows whether it works.

## What you can then see

Once every lead carries its campaign, the dashboards can answer the questions a board asks.

### Leads by campaign

How many leads each campaign brought, and what each one cost.

### Deals by campaign

Which campaigns the deals in your pipeline trace back to.

### Against your lead goals

Spend, leads and cost per lead, measured against the goals you set.

### Companies and their stage

Which target companies your campaigns reached, and where each sits in your sales pipeline.

To confirm: whether deal outcomes are sent back to LinkedIn, Meta and Google as conversions, and which HubSpot plans this works on.

The scope

### Not a full HubSpot rebuild

This is scoped to one job: every ad lead carries its campaign. It is not a full HubSpot implementation, and we do not run your campaigns. Crank sets up the tracking and reads the results. Your media team runs the campaigns.

## How it goes

Typically live within days of access.

1

### Access

You give us access to HubSpot and to your ad accounts.

2

### Set up

Forms, lead source rules and the LinkedIn form connection.

3

### Test

A test lead from each platform, followed from the ad to HubSpot.

4

### Dashboards fill

Ad history is loaded, and from then on every ad lead carries its campaign.

## Kept working by Crank

Set up at onboarding and watched after that. It is the foundation the pipeline dashboard and the companies report are built on, and your HubSpot stays yours.

## Questions about ad lead tracking

### Is this a full HubSpot implementation?

No. It is scoped to ad lead tracking, so every lead carries its campaign. A full build is a different job.

### What about leads from LinkedIn’s own forms?

We connect them so they arrive in HubSpot with their campaign. That includes leads that are not arriving there today.

### Does it need a particular HubSpot plan?

We check your HubSpot plan at onboarding. **\[To confirm which plans it works on\]**

### Which ad platforms does it cover?

LinkedIn, Meta and Google.

### Do you run our campaigns?

No. Crank sets up the tracking and reads the results. Your media team runs the campaigns.

### How long does it take?

Typically live within days of access.

### What does it cost?

£2,500 one-off onboarding with every plan.

### Who owns the HubSpot account?

You do. Crank sets up the tracking inside it and reads the results.
