Rather than a feature table that goes out of date, compare them on what you will rely on: who sets it up, what it covers, how you check it is working, what it costs for your volume and what happens when it breaks. Ask each supplier for their current details, and test on your own shop. ## What they have in common Both sit between your Shopify shop and the ad platforms. Instead of the shopper's browser reporting a sale, which ad blockers, privacy settings and short cookie lives can block, the shop sends it directly. More of the sales your ads made are then counted. So you are not choosing between a working and a broken set-up. You are choosing which supplier will keep yours right, and at what cost. ## What matters more than the tool ### The set-up Server-side tracking depends on what is sent and when. A good tool badly set up still sends the wrong things. ### Agreeing what counts A sale needs one agreed meaning, written down, so every platform is told the same thing. ### Checking it Tracking fails quietly. You need a way to see that sales sent match orders in Shopify. ### Upkeep Theme updates, new apps and consent changes break tracking. Someone has to notice and fix it. A tool does not stay right on its own. The question is less which one, and more who sets it up, checks it and fixes it when the site changes. ## How to compare them Ask each supplier for their current plans, pricing and coverage, and write the answers side by side. Do not rely on a comparison table, ours included, because these change. Which ad platforms and events does it send to, and which can you add later? How is it priced, and how does the price move as your orders grow? Who does the set-up, and what is included in it? How do you check what was sent against your orders in Shopify? How does it handle customers who decline cookies? What support is there when it breaks, and how quickly do they answer? How do you leave, and what happens to your data and set-up? Can you run it alongside your current tracking to compare the counts? Run each on your own shop if you can, and compare what it recorded with your orders over the same period. If you run paid ads on Shopify, it is worth checking. Browser tracking misses some sales, so the ad platforms learn from less than the truth. ### Can I switch from one to the other? Yes, but plan it, and run both for a short time if you can, so you can compare the counts before you turn one off. ### Will it fix my reporting by itself? It should bring the ad platforms closer to your real orders. It will not make every platform agree, because they count in different ways. ### Does Crank only work with Wetracked?
